Great location for local walks with spectacular views. A tip, leave by the hotel's side access and keep walking uphill (road turns into a path between two fields), to the stone maze, then round the hill, and over the 'Cat's back', the views are stunning (wear waterproof boots if it has been wet recently, the path can get muddy and a bit overgrown out of season). The hotel's side exit is a bit hidden but it saves you going down the hotel's drive and back up the road at the side of the hotel. The hotel itself is a nice old hotel building in a beautiful town. The staff were very nice. Next time I might take my mountain bike, it looks like the old railway line to Dingwall is now a several km path.

Booked this hotel as a stop off on the way to Ullapool for ferry, the night we stayed was during a weather warning with rain, and lord did it rain, from check in to check out it was great. We left early to catch ferry mainly for any issues on the roads with the rain and snow was expected. so I can't comment on breakfast as we missed it due to weather, but personally I would say its well worth the money, and the bar staff was amazing, my grandson wanted a mars bar what they didn't sell, she came back with a selection box, I will always remember this hotel as its the first place I managed to split the G (if you know you know) overall great stay and I would recommend and I would go back

It's a handsome looking hotel inside and out. I arrived late in the evening and after a brief conversation with Jolanta when I said I'd be leaving before breakfast I was offered a packed lunch which was gratefully accepted. When I made my reservation I knew I'd be working late and leaving early so I took no notice of breakfast availability and can't say if it was included in my room rate. I then went up to my room where I was very pleased to see a spacious and well appointed resting place. I'd be happy to return at another time but on a leisure basis to enjoy what the Ben Wyvis has to offer.

What a lovely place! We had a superior twin room and it was just that, superior. It was clean, comfortable and had an amazing rain shower. We had evening meal and breakfast which was excellent. Beautiful gardens to walk our dogs who were also made to feel welcome. But most of all the staff, the owners should be very proud of them, all the staff we met were so friendly, helpful and professional, they made our stay perfect. Great value for money and we are already planning our next stay.

Gillian

Friendly staff. Bedroom well equipped, spacious, clean and comfortable. Bath with rains however over. Dinner was very good, and reasonably priced. Breakfast was good, self-service buffet. In the evening we ordered some sandwiches to take away after breakfast. In the morning they gave us two packed-lunches (sandwiches, crisps, chocolate bar, apple & a drink). All for £13 - absolute bargain 😃. Would definitely stay again, and would consider using other hotels owned by this group.
